Cladding Rectification

The team successfully removed and installed cladding on one elevation of the building. The presence of existing sunshades posed a significant challenge, requiring careful planning and execution. Rail Bridge Inspections

Tradetech Rope Access supported the engineering team by providing safe access solutions and stand-by rescue services during a large-scale national bridge inspection programme. Each bridge presented unique challenges, requiring the team to think critically and develop tailored access and rescue plans specific to each structure. Their adaptability and commitment to safety were key to the successful delivery of the programme.

  • Provide access and stand-by rescue services for rope access engineers to inspect rail bridge structures

City Limits Hotel
Remedial Repairs

20-22 Lt Bourke Street, Melbourne

Tradetech carried out comprehensive remedial repairs to the entire building envelope. To ensure public safety and maintain uninterrupted access to the hotel’s main entrance, a protective gantry was constructed at the front of the building. All works were undertaken while the hotel remained fully operational, with minimal disruption to guests and staff. Structural repairs to the façade were completed in accordance with the engineer’s technical specifications. As a result, the exterior of the hotel was transformed from a run-down appearance to a clean, well-maintained finish.

Melbournian winter. Environmental factors were closely monitored throughout the project to ensure all works were carried out in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP). Complex access requirements added to the project’s difficulty, but the site team embraced the challenge and successfully completed the works ahead of schedule.

Extensive Structural Repairs

This large-scale project saw Tradetech manage all aspects from start to finish. The scope involved extensive structural repairs to a fully operational office building, with noise-sensitive tasks scheduled during early mornings and weekends to minimise disruption to tenants and staff.

All works were closely monitored and approved by a superintendent, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards. The broad and complex scope included rigging operations to safely remove a heavy, redundant steel structure located above some of Melbourne’s busiest streets, welding to restore the structural integrity of the concrete structure, and the application of protective coatings to both steel and masonry elements.

Tradetech Rope Access successfully completed a full façade restoration project that included weather sealing of all windows, concrete repairs, and the application of protective coatings. The team operated under strict site rules, allowing the works to be carried out safely during the school term. West Gate Bridge
Inspection + Core Sampling

Melbourne
Duration: 1 Month

During a night shift requiring a West Gate Bridge lane closure, an underbridge inspection unit was utilised to access the top of the piers. This allowed the team to safely rig ropes and establish access from below for the remainder of the project. The survey was carried out methodically and safely, with no further interruptions to the asset owner’s operations. Valuable data was collected to support further structural assessments and future maintenance planning.

  • Full cover meter survey

  • Visual and tactile inspection

  • Core sampling 

Outcomes:
